Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been searching and photographing cemeteries of my own ancestors for several years. I know what a treat it is to actually see the headstone of a relative you never knew but added so much to your life. I can search or photograph graves or cemeteries in Colbert and Lauderdale County,North West Alabama or Southern Tenn in or near Wayne County or Hardin County. I could possibly go beyond my immediate area with good information about location. However I do travel around the country and can search out of town areas That I am near. I will post name of towns I will be visiting so check back often to see if I will be near your target area. I am currently in Hendersonville Tenn near Nashville Tn and Madison TN

cemeteries
The Gilkey's have a hugh amount of cemeteries.

The family settled in all 48 states.

TN and KY are covered with Gilkey Cemeteries, as well as others. If you near SC and NC, a lot there also. Ohio and Penn have the most.

There is a Gilkey Festival in New Galilee, PA the 3rd weekend of Sep each year.

In July the family reunion is at Gilkey Ridge out side of Athens.

Another branch has a reunion every 2 years in Branson, MO.

Happy hunting.

Would appreciate any and all photos you take of the family for the family tree on Ancestry.

there is a web site - cemeteriesonly.com.
David and Martha MOntgomery go to cemeteries and log all visible grave stones. Note that there are no Foster's or Lee's that have grave stones. Should be removed from requests.
Have a great day - hope this web site helps you with your searches.

Joanna Bacon
Hi
I was able to stop at the cemetery for Joanna Bacon today. I've added an additional photo as a close up of the engraving at the bottom of the stone. I used water and a soft bristle brush to remove a bit of the dirt to read it. As I was able to transacibe it it reads:
In memory of Mrs Joanna Bacon wife of Cap James Bacon died Jun 27, 1799 aged 42 years & 2 m

Death spares no age nor Pitys no degree not old nor young nor infant can be free. The youth & infant too will die and leave this world for vaft eternity.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for sending the info on the Coffee Cemetery. I am so happy to hear that has been cleaned/improved. It does my heart good to know that there are people that care about maintaining our old, priceless cemeteries.
Thanks again! Peg
