|Janet McMaster||Wright Genealogy|
I am also from Illinois originally and am connected to the Wright family.
My GGGgrandfather was Silas Wright b. 8/30/1814 Rowan Co., N.C. His father and so on and on goes back like this: Richard-Daniel-James- Thomas-Lord John-Thomas-Robert-Sir John of Kelvedon-Sir & Rev. John-Sir Henry Wright.
If you are interested we could compare information.

Hi Ava. Sorry, but it doesn't seem we have a Wright connection. Yes, I've done a Wright DNA test. And, yes, my Wrights were Quakers for several generations. But my Wright line went Lancaster Co, VA > Goochland Co, VA > Bedford Co, VA > Columbiana Co, OH > Highland Co, OH > Indiana > Florida. Best of luck with your research.

I will need your Find A Grave Contributor number in order to transfer it to you.

I checked the Powell Project spreadsheet, and it looks like the males who are in the NC-25 Powell group are in Y-DNA Haplogroup R1b1a2. My brother and father's Powell line is in Y-DNA Haplogroup T-L446 (aka T1a2b), which means we are not related through my father's Powell line. However, it turns out that my family is related to "multiple" unrelated Powell lines, as I have a Powell match (Robert Powell) who is in the same Y-DNA Haplogroup as your brother -- R1b1a2. We think that the R1b1a2 Powell line may be related through my mother's Baxter line, as there are Baxters who married into one of the Powell lines. Or, we could be related to the R1b1a2 Powell line through one of the branches of my father's great-grandmother's line, because a different Powell line connects to one of her ancestor lines. I will let you know if I ever figure out where our connection to the R1b1a2 Powell line is.
