Wendell Vance Elli
Hello Debra,
My name is Evelyn Marie Craig and I live in Arlington Heights, Illinois which is a suburb northwest of Chicago.

Your husband John and I are first cousins. Both of us have the same Elli ancestors.

My grandma was Anna Koch/Koos/Kooz and my grandfather was Wendell 'Vendel' Illi, Sr. (Illi changed to Elli, then changed to Ely by my father.)
My father was Michael Brody Ely, Wendell's brother. He passed away in 1990 in Arizona. Another of their siblings was Mary (Rose Mary), she passed away in 1991 in California, and then there was Wendell, Jr. and Jasper and 2 children never identified.

My father told me that his father Wendell Sr. was a coal miner and had died in the mines.
I don't know how accurate that is. I was never able to find out what mine(s) he worked in.
I do know that most of their children were born in Coreopolis, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. My Aunt Mary was born at Cliff Mine, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Many years ago, you sent a letter to my sister Lillian in Chicago inquiring about family history. She gave the letter to me and I sent you an answer. I never heard back from you, so I assumed the letter either got lost in the mail or that you were no longer interested.

I have been doing genealogy research now for about 20 years, and the information about Anna and her husbands is scarce. I do remember when she stayed in Chicago for awhile with my mom and dad. She was married to a man named Steve BosekaBogeka and he was with her. Steve was a nice old man. He passed away here in Chicago 07 May 1965 and is buried in a local cemetery here. After he passed, Anna went back to WV.

I was thrilled to find some info on the 'find-a-grave' site about Wendell Vance Elli, since he and my father are brothers. I also remember their brother Jasper visiting here in Chicago for awhile.

If you are still interested, I will send you what info I have. I do have a old photo of Anna and Wendell, Sr.
Thank you for the work you are doing with 'find-a-grave'. This helps to find long lost relatives.
Best wishes,
Evelyn M. Craig

Jasper Elli
Hi! I could not find a grave marker for Jasper. I have photographed the area of his grave and posted the picture. I used the cemetery plot map and in ground markers to confirm the location. Ace

Carl Noble McCormick
THANKS SO MUCH for hunting Noble McCormick's tombstone. After finding his Pennsylvania Death Certificate, I believe he is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Uniontown, Fayette Co., Pennsylvania and that his name was not Carl, but just Noble McCormick.

I have sent the contributor the web address for of his Death Certificate and see if that will get it changed. The information, parents and wife are right.

Rev. JR Moore and family
Debra - THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!! I am so excited to see these as I live too far away to visit this cemetery. I honestly didn't think I would ever get a chance to see these and am in awe at your FAST response! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!! Elizabeth Moore Hall at West Virginia University was named after Elizabeth, and Susan was a music teacher there. They were instrumental in getting women an education. Rev.James Robertson Moore was also involved in this, but died young of an illness.
