Jacob Summers

I'm restoring a tombstone but the stone was in the first row at the Elhanan Cemetery, Ossian, IN and is very worn from the salt trucks, vehicle exhaust and other elements.

Jacob and his wife Phoebe are only Summers on Find A Grave with no photos. I was told by the caretaker that the stone I'm working on may be a Summers.

I went to the church that has some records but was told all the cemetery records from the 1800's and early 1900's were destroyed in a house fire many years ago.

Do you have any information about Jacob and Phoebe that has not been documented on

Thank you,
Annie Hoffmeier

RE: Florence Craig photo request, Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA
So Florence was born 12/7/1886 in CA and died 11/6/1965 in SF County - the listing for her is Florence E Craig and mother's maiden name is Bernhard. Is this what you have? This is what I got off CADI so far.

Florence Craig photo request, Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA
Hi Sandy,

I saw your photo request and your note wondering if this is a Florence HAMM Craig born in 1886. This is not the same one. This one was born 9/9/1905 in Rhode Island and died 8/8/1964 in San Francisco County. Her mother's maiden name is O'Keefe. This is without even having to look at the stone but by looking at CADI.

There are only two Florence Craigs listed that died in CA in 1964 and neither are the one you are looking for. Then I did a search of any Florence Craigs that died in California ever and I still don't see any that would match who you are looking for. Do you have her mother's maiden name perhaps?

I also show now Florence Hamms (or any variation of the spelling) being born in CA other than one in 1901 and one in 1922, BUT a lot of records were burned in the huge fires after the 1906 SF earthquake, so if she was born in SF County, it's possible the records went poof.

Anything else to go on?

Elizabeth Davison Mikesell Lesley
Her find a grave number is 7765687. Burial in Carroll County Indiana. Re-married Andrew Lesley. Whom ever added her record has her parents as Mikesell instead of Davison.

RE: John & Eliza Davidson
The information regarding this memorial came from the SIGS publication Fairview Cemetery, Vol., IV. I have added information and made a correction to the birth date for Eliza. There is likely no stone, but I will verify that as time allows. I will take a look at the plat book and see who else might be listed in this burial plot. Beth Day Nolan (liz)

RE: Possible 3rd marriage?
As I said last fall, I am related to Robert's 1st wife--Rebecca Ogle.

It sounds like you are saying that his second wife Maude Bean was your great grandmother. If you have her burial information either you or I can make the link on FindAGrave.

If you want his memorial transferred to you, I can do that too; although it doesn't sound like either of us is actually related to Robert.
