Isn't it wonderful in this day and age how fast we can find a long-lost loved one that links our ancestors? I remember in the 60's sending many a letter to Salt Lake City, Utah where a large genealogical collection was kept. I anxiously awaited the postal letter in the return mail. Usually it was stamped with "NO INFORMATION FOUND." This did not daunt me in the pursuit of my ancestors. On Find-A-Grave we have another tool we can use. One day perhaps our descendents will find what we have put together with this tool.|
2015 finds myself and friends taking pictures in Mountain View Cemetery near my home. We have found that only about 12% of over 11,000 sites have headstone photos put online. We feel blessed to be doing this and occasionally being able to link a husband and wife.

|Dorie||Isaac L. James (memorial # 89261224)|
On June 13, 2014, you had sent me an edit for Isaac James buried in Libertyville, IL stating that he was born on October 7, 1820 in Waukegan, IL. At the time, I was not verifying information that was sent to me and I approved it without checking.
I have since come across information indicating that the information you sent was incorrect and I wanted to share it with you to either update your records, or perhaps find a different Isaac James attached to the information you sent. ☺
Isaac L. James is listed in Past & Present of Lake County IL published in 1877. He is shown as a farmer in Libertyville, is documented as being born in South Wales in 1825, having come to the U.S. and settling in Lake County in 1852. He married Susan Rice in 1865 and she died in 1876 (I have connected her to him on Find A Grave).
The age on the headstone also is more consistent with 1825 than 1820.
I found Isaac L. James, with Susan M. James living in Fremont, Lake County (this is one township west of Libertyville township). It indicates his birthplace as Wales. He is 45 years old (reflecting a birth year of approx.. 1825).
In 1880 Census he is in Libertyville, now living with his wife Amanda James (he is buried with her). He is 55 years old (indicating a birth year closer to 1825 than 1820) and it says he is born in Wales.
I have updated the information on the memorial to reflect this information. I wanted to let you know so you could either update your records or find the Isaac James you are related to! I havenít found that Isaac had children although it appears Amanda might have come to the marriage with a child (I havenít checked that yet Ė so Iím not sure). If you have any other information, please let me know!
