When I sit back and reflect on the significant events and important aspects in my life, one major theme emerges, which is a loving and supportive family, that honors and treasures our heritage, actively preserves our family history and encourages accurate research to put the pieces of the puzzle of our families past.

I am, Betty L. Schmidt, a sixth generation native Coloradoan. I am the 3rd great-granddaughter of Adam Schwab, the 2nd great-granddaughter of Johann Adam Michael Meyer and Daniel M. Baker. I am the great granddaughter of Bertha and Emil Schmidt.
I am 2nd great-granddaughter of William Eliphalet and Melvira Millicent Holbrook and the great-granddaughter of Mary Melvira and William Edgar Taylor. In addition, I am a direct descendent of William Bradford, Governor of the Plymouth Colony and a passenger on the Mayflower.

I am a retired central office administrator, teacher, genealogist and poet, who lives in two places. My permanent residence is Fountain, Colorado, but winter in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.
