Bio: The Sparks family lives on the East side of Nashville, in a 70+ y/o Tudor Revival cottage. Hubs is a freelance writer, columnist, actor, & doctoral student, aside from his day job. Our oldest son, who has special needs, is a talented artist, who also enjoys mainstream & special needs fellowships, camp, sports, music, is gearing up for appropriate independence, as a young adult. To that end, he'll be heading to a post-secondary school w/ dorms, after he vacates his tiny apartment at home. (All aboard the EMPTY NEST EXPRESS---woo-hoo!) Our daughter attends college in the Midwest, & spent much of her Freshman year in Siberia, earning a 3.7 gpa! The youngest lives in another Southern state, enjoying blue collar work, gaming, & community college. I (Cathy) enjoy genealogy, graphic design, travel, & entertaining. I'm currently studying to become certified in counseling & life coaching. We attend a diverse church, loosely affiliated w/ the So. Baptist denomination, which also offers community-based Bible study groups & Sunday worship.

NOTE: This is primarily my side of the family, direct lineage. In a couple of instances, the surnamed family is related by marriage, & is very closely allied with the family. Our children are adopted, & their line is noted as Af. Am.. We consider their family tree, of which little is, thus far, known, to be grafted onto ours. I am happy to collaborate, or to share any family history information I find.

|lawmac||RE: Hello, cousin.|
Well, my Grandfather name was spelled William McLean and was married to Ella Dover. When it comes to my Dad's side of the family there is more I do not know about them than I do. I know that when my father was drafted during the Korean War that the Army misspelled his last name to McClain and for whatever reason my Dad kept that spelling. I have a brother and sister and some half brothers and sisters and they all have the new spelling. What was the name of William's brother? Your great grandfather. I do not believe I every met him. My Dad did some cousins in Southern California name McLean and I did meet them once...but I forget their first names. Hope this answer your question.

Since the memorial I created was the 1st one of the two, it should actually be the only one remaining, and yours should have been deleted. OR it's possible that Find A Grave admin might have been willing to combine the two, but that could take some time to accomplish.
so, in the interest of taking care of the problem as quickly as possible and with the least amount of effort on anyone's part, I've deleted the memorial I'd created.

Not a problem at all my friend. :)
|Casey Winningham||RE: Hello, again! Link request...|
Done. FYI, it is good to just click the edit button at the top left of the memorial to request changes. That way a link to the memorial will be sent along.
|John Sheets||RE: Cousin?|
My father's family was from West Virginia and operated a Sheets family farm there, as well as a Hudson family farm. That was circa the 1930's and 40's.
|John & Retta Waggoner||RE: Matilda Smith Photo|
Cathy - Matilda is the sister to my wife's grandfather John Bransford Matthews. Looks like you are related.
|jwright||RE: John Anderson Wright|
I took several photos in Rest Haven including one at the entrance to the cemetery, but do not have any records of taking a photo of John Anderson Wright. I do not believe that we are related as my Wright ancestors lived in Shelby County,IN starting around 1850 and origninated from England before that time.
