Bio

Joe Warne, Peck, KS, Retired Civil Service Jan 2011. I served with the US Navy as an Engineering Aid in the Seabees 9 years, NMCB-74, NCTC Gulfport, MS and wintered over in Antarctica 1980. I am a member of "The Sons of the American Revolution". I am a descendent of the following Revolutionary War patriots Joseph Warne, Joseph Parkison, William Parkison, Matthew Door, James Coe, Moses Hays, Daniel Munger and William Gookins (Googins). I am a descendent of Thomas Warne Proprietor of East New Jersey, Richard Coe, and Thomas Lord. My grandpa Roy Warne used to always said that anyone who spelled Warne(not Warren or Warner) we were related to in some way. While I was in the Navy everywhere I went I would look to see if there was a Warne listed in the Phone book. I met a lot of interesting people that way. While in Port Hueneme CA I met a Claris Warne. She told me of the Warne genealogy book in the Los Angeles library. The first chance I had I went there to look at it, it was over 700 pages. I went and got $35.00 in dimes and copied the entire book on a Xerox machine at the library. That was the start of a life time of tracing Warnes'. I went to New Zeeland in October of 1979 for two weeks while waiting to go to Antarctica. I met several Warnes' there in Christchurch. I also met some Warnes' in Aucland.
