Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am the son of Curtis Alfred and Rubye Charles Weldon Hay and was born December 9, 1940 in Langdale, Chambers County, Alabama. I was married to Jeanette Nelson Hay for thirty nine and a half years before her death on December 14, 2002. God has blessed me with good health and some wonderful memories. My entry into family research was in 1999 and my interest in doing so was to preserve my family history so I could pass it along to my son and my grand children. Genealogy has become a passion for me and a great diversion since my wife died in 2002. My desire is not only to preserve my own family history but since over the years other people have been a great help to me I try to help other people when I can. I have found Find-A-Grave to be a great vehicle to both find and share family history. My families of interest are Hay, Matson, Franklin, Weldon, Mims, Cleckler, Nelson, Snider, Robertson, Taylor, Cobern/Coburn, Cooper, Strock and Coe.

If I have a memorial that is not a part of my family I will be happy to make a transfer.

Lucretia married Pearson
Creasy aka Lucretia was the sister in law of
(Francine)Assenia Pearson is also sometimes listed as Acene or Ann Pearson.

Assenia is the daughter of Nathan Pearson who lived in Bibb County Alabama sometime between 1830 and 1840.

Nathan was the Father in Law of Creasy/Lucretia.

Lucretia (married SIMS about age 25) then married Pearson) is one of her sisters in law who married Assenia's brother, Wenlock Christopher Pearson or "Locxk" or Locki Pearson.

Assenia did also later marry a Broadhead by the name of Felix. This was her sister in laws husbands brother.

They moved to Clarke County, MS sometime between 1840 and 1850.Assenia has at least 9 brothers and sisters that we are aware of.She had a sister named Mary Ellen that married a Bradshaw. One of her brothers N. Lafayette or "Fate" later settled in Jones County, MS after the civil war.

He died there in 1815.Many of the Broadheads moved there as well and so did the descendants of Locki or Lock Pearson also.

Elizabeth Mims Baker
Hi Clyde, If you will look closely at her date of death, there is a big difference in the 8 and 6 next to it. Elizabeth died in 1864, not 1884. She was married only to Anderson Baker, not to William Cleckler. William did marry an Elizabeth Mims, but not Abraham Christopher Mims' Elizabeth. The Elizabeth who m. William is on 1870 Census as 17 and on 1880 as 25, putting her date of birth ca 1855. Abram's dau was born 1837. She d. in May 1864 and Anderson married Mary Ann Headley Love in Nov. 1864. I think Abram's Elizabeth died in childbirth because her last child Emma was born ca 1864 per 1870 census, the same yr. Elizabeth died. Thank you for correcting this. God bless!

By the way, Cemeteries of Chilton has 1884 and Benjamin Roberts got that from Sue Hardy's Chilton Co. Cemetery Censuses. I did my own personal census of Walnut Creek in early 70s and had correct date on it of 1864. Thanks again!

Hi, I'm a little confused. That headstone shows 4 different people. What would you like me to do with that headstone photo? Thank you.

Rebecca A Mims
My wife also has direct ties to Rebecca also, which is why I am trying to correct some of this. I have sent a name change request to Borland and hope that all this can be worked out. Even though yours is more complete Find A Grave rules state that the one put in first will have priority. I just would like to see all the links on one memorial. You might ask Borland if she will delete hers, as I don't know her relationship to Rebecca.
