Bio

I have recently started taking photos of the gravestones at Fort Richardson. I have no personal relatives buried there and have no problem transferring ownership of any memorial over to family or friend. I also have no problem with anyone using photos I have taken. As a family member of a veteran I extend my thank yous to each and every headstone I pass for their service whether on the battlefield or at home maintaining the home front. This service is the least I can offer in remembering them.
During my recovery period I see Ancestry has developed some new software. All of my photos have been changed to landscape mode. I am currently in the process of editing all 1400+ photos to portrait mode. I am sure this is as frustrating for you as it is for me. Thank you for your patience. As of Sept. 9th I believe I have scanned through the entire Fort Rich FAG database , found & flipped all landscape grave stone photos. Several of us volunteers were affected by this software implementation. I am only human so if I missed one please it is an easy process to correct & you do not have to retake the photo.
I have found even after correcting the flipped photos, some of them have reverted back to the landscape mode. I will try & retake these photos the summer of 2021.
For future reference I document burial site location as it is referenced on the burial stone and at the Fort Richardson National Registrar and NOT on the National Veteran's Grave Locator database.
Thank you.
