I would love to know why my great grandfather Jacob Henry Meyers left New Orleans and an apparently wealthy family and relatives on St. Charles Street to sharecrop in Catahoula Parish. I would appreciate any contact from this side of the family that we know so little about. I am also doing the research on my husband's family - Cruse, Morris, Johnson, Lott, Barlow, Stephens, McKay.He wants to be able to claim some casino money through his Native American bloodlines. I have found a gggg grandmother named Elizabeth Panther married to Henry Cruse.
