I have been interested in genealogy and history since the early 1980s.

Currently I am the President of the Paulding County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogy Society; Vice President of the Friends of the Limberlost State Historic Site and I am a past Board member of Society of Indiana Pioneers (ancestor: John Bothwell).

I completed a book on my maternal line of Pailloz/Pio in 1996. In 2008, I transcribed Maurice McClue's nature journal and did some research into the McClue family and transcribed Jane Hine's birding journals. I am currently doing research on behalf of the Limberlost State Historic Site.

I live and work in Fort Wayne and Geneva Indiana .

My mother, Barbara Pio Gorney, is currently president of the Besancon Historical Society in connection with the old St. Louis Besancon Cemetery.
