Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my family history since about 2004, but have more recently begun using Find A Grave. I am excited by the possibilities Find A Grave offers for sharing information and making new discoveries. Surnames I am working on in particular are Ripke, Nehring, Anderson, Hubbard, Brewer, Brown, Wright, Scharff, Rahn, Carter, Robbins, Bowker and Johnson.

I have documented several Hawaiian cemeteries while vacationing. I have no further information on any of those memorials. I am happy to add information to these Hawaiian memorials, or transfer memorials to you, if you are related.

Lt. Paul Scharff WWII
I am researching the bombardier on the mission where Lt. Scharff died, Robert Earl Hoover, who went to my alma mater. He was the last man remaining in the plane, other than the grievously wounded Scharff and the deceased co-pilot. The remains of these three officers were reportedly found in the plane's wreckage some time later, perhaps unidentifiable. There is some mystery involved in why the bombardier didn't bail out, and one thing that may help shed light on that is figuring out when the three men's remains were recovered, and by whom, and how the remains were positioned in the wreckage. (My wild speculation is that maybe Hoover decided to try to fly the plane rather than toss Scharff out the door and then jump himself, but was unable to safely land it.) I see that the info you have on Lt. Scharff's memorial is that it occurred six years after the mission, so perhaps his body was repatriated to the states around that time? Any info you might have on the disposition of his body, and how it came to be recovered, would be a helpful clue!

RE: Remes and Enga memorials in St. Wenceslaus Cem in New Prague, MN
Hi Kathy,
So glad you understand about updates. I find more and info available that wasn't out there a few years back on ancestry, etc. I try to keep busy linking families together due to my declining health and not being able to move around. Doctors say it's one terrific med for my brain. If you have an questions just send me a note. Jeanine

Hi Kathy,

Edits have been processed as requested and transfers made. I know you'll take good care of them.

Kindest regards,

Charles and Frances Blasdell
Hi Kathy,

I received your suggested edits (links to parents, Frances' date of death) for the memorial above. Would you please provide the source(s) of your information?

Thank you for keeping Find A Grave an accurate and valuable genealogical tool!

PS: If you are related to Charles and Frances, please let me know how. I would be happy to transfer their memorials to a family member.
