I have been working on my family tree for most of my life (50+ years). I grew up in southern Guadalupe County, near the area where my ancestors settled after arriving from Germany. This was close to the Wilson County line. Before my time, these communities were called O'Daniel, Post Oak and Elm Creek. I now live in Dallas, but go down "home" quite often.

The main cemeteries for my families are: Post Oak, Achterberg, Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek, Deicke, plus some graves on private properties.

The main lines I am researching are: Poenitz, Vorpahl (Bauer), Schievelbein (Kluth), and Brietzke (Achterberg). Of course I also include many of the names of the other German settlers in Guadalupe and Wilson county since they seem to be connected either here in Texas, or even before they came to the new world.
