John Hopwood, Revolutionary soldier, is my 5th Great Grandfather buried in Hopwood Cemetery who Hopwood, Pa is named. Because of him I found my ancestors, 2 wonderful hobbies, graving and genealogy and enabled me to be accepted in the D.A.R. of Bethel Fife & Drum Chapter; son & brother, husband were in the S.A.R. John Hayden, Col.Thomas Gaddis ; Lieut Dennis Springer, Rev. soldiers are also 5xGG Grandfathers. I am also a Mayflower descendant thru Priscilla Webb to William Mullins .A member of the War of 1812 Society thru Moses Hopwood, a Daughter of the Union Veterans of the Civil War thru my 2xgGrandfather, Frederick R. Martin and member of International Walter Hines Page DAR Society and a Blue Star Mother. I was born & raised in PA.; graduated from North Union H.S. and then attended business school in Pgh.; mother of two children and 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. I feel everyone deserves to be remembered for passing thru this way and touching our lives in some way. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled 100 years ago, spreads out among the ones you left who would have loved you so.
