Thank you FaG Volunteers! I have matched 13,286 FaG Memorials to my database as of Oct 2018. I love knowing where all our kith and kin ended up! Genealogy has been a rewarding hobby for me since 1991. I believe in sharing information freely so that we can learn from one another, improve our data, and spread it out for safe-keeping. I view genealogy as a service to both my family, and to the genealogy community that has helped me greatly. Genealogy is also a wonderful way to honor those that have gone before us - especially our military. I love to meet new cousins so please let me know if you are kin!

MILITARY INFO: Please add this info from tombstones into the Transcription field. It's an easy way to highlight and honor their service.

HELP CLEANUP FaG MEMORIALS: When links for family members are created please consider removing redundant text about parents and family members from the Bio Field.

READ THE FAQS: Just about every issue is covered so check it out. Of course, I am human, so if I make a mistake please let me know - just please be nice. There are couple of FaG policies that I disagree with. (1) I think that Middle Names should be allowed as Nicknames. I find it helpful to use these if the person commonly went by their middle name. It makes searching for them much easier. Unfortunately this is no longer allowed. (2) I also believe that Unknown Burials should be encouraged instead of disallowed. When people see these 'Unknown' Memorials they are encouraged to provide info on them and their related persons. Many times people have sent me info on where an 'Unknown' is buried.

TRANSFER REQUESTS: I don't believe in 'collecting' FaG memorials, but I do believe that family-belongs-with-family and I am happy to transfer family members according to FaG Policy. Please use the Edit tab to request a transfer so that I receive a Link.

SHARE IMAGES: Please feel free to copy and share any pictures I have posted. I only ask that credit is given.

CANVAS WORK: Help others by canvasing and photographing your local cemeteries. Talk to the church about their records and history. Suggest that the church add a link to their web site as a free service to their church members and families. Tombstones wear down over time and they are such wonderful documentation of our ancestors and so helpful to our research! Here are some of the projects I have worked on:
~ Little River Methodist Church (Woodstock, GA)
My husband's maternal line, Anglin is buried here. His family has been wonderful to me and this project was done in their honor. I am very happy that the church has added a link on their web site to help other family and researchers.
~ Rowland Springs (White, GA) My in-laws' church.
~ Mt Carmel (Canton, GA)
~ Miller Chapel (White, GA)
~ Stamp Creek (White, GA)
