Bio

As a family historian I have only listed those family members who are in my Ancestry online tree to support my efforts. After many years of research, and with the help of several Brown cousins we have traced our family back to our 4th great grandfather William Brown b 1755 in VA d 1841 in Marshall County, IL. William was a Revolutionary War Veteran who joined the VA Militia at the age of twenty, moved his family to KY in the early 1800's, and boarded an Ohio River steamboat for IL in 1834. We are currently researching the Brown families of Marshall County, IL and Shelby County, KY to find out more about our William Brown.

09/25/2023 Update: We have not been able to positively connect to the Scottish Browns of Shelby County, KY, but we have since had a very close 1 step Y-DNA match with a James Brown family that removed from Edinburgh, Scotland in the early 1700's.
