|June Darlene||RE: Pleasant Hampton|
A couple of years ago I found your info on Ancestry about my great uncle, Jasper N. Hampton, and his son, William Pleas Hampton. As you will recall we corresponded a few times and I was thrilled to find someone who gave me the name of one of Jasper N. Hampton's children! You told me about William Pleas moving to Arizona for the health of his little girl, and about him dying due to a horse accident. You gave me the email address of your son who was researching the Hampton's, but I have not heard back from neither you nor your son after our initial contact. Would love to get back in touch. Have you two found anything more about our line of Hampton's?
I am still stuck on finding out where Jasper N. Hampton lived when he left Kentucky (Kansas or Missouri, or both), who his other children were, when and where he died, etc. Have you or your son anymore answers?
I recently found one of Jasper N. Hampton's sisters on Ancestry with great information about her.
To recap, Pleasant Hampton is my great grandfather through his youngest son, John Franklin Hampton (my grandpa). My Dad was named Jasper after Jasper N. Hampton. I am
June (Hampton) Thayer Kearney.

I would say that we are related. Small world!
Merry Christmas to your family!

You had the right cemetery - I found the memorial without any problem, in fact it can be seen from the road weaving throughout the cemetery, FYI - location is Section 5, Plot 95. spaces 1 & 2.
Aww! :-( I am sure he knows. :-)

The weird thing about his coordinates though? It says he is in Block 40 Lot 40? I don't see a Lot 40 for Block 40. Odd!

My great grandmother did the same thing to my grandma. They divorced and though my great grandfather was around sometimes, he left my grandma and her sister in the care of relatives most of the time. Who were not always the nicest.... My great grandmother just left them and started a new life and family. I don't understand how people can do that to their own kids. :-(

Hmmm, I think it was the cemetery that messed up. Before they had everyone online, I would go there and give them a list of people to look up for me. I am 99% sure they told me he wasn't listed. They probably just missed him. But, you know that even though you may not have found him, he may just not have a stone. Lots and lots of people are buried there without a stone. Same for the others. It's sad for sure. I do see him listed so I am thinking they missed him and told me he wasn't listed there. I am really sorry! :-(

Well, it's possible they forgot to write him down. I would leave him where he is, in Crown Hill, unless he is found elsewhere. Sometimes they wrote a cemetery down, only to change to another later. But I do know that Crown Hill didn't keep the best of records back in the day.

I'm wondering how much you know about Cora. I have been trying to research her father Samuel G Riggs as I believe he connects to both my family tree and my husband's. I'm also wondering if by any chance you know who her mother was and what ever became of her.

Marsha, I'd be happy to link others to Harvey Harold Hedglin's memorial if you send me their memorial numbers.
I have worked with Ethel Hedglin on this part of my family tree and still have some questions. I'd like it very much if you would write to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
