All 32 of my 3rd great-grandparents were settled into Ashe County, NC by 1820:  Little, Lawrence, Bower, Houck, Adams, Bare, Burkett, Curtis, Fox, Gabey, Goodman, Greene, Grogan, Halsey, Johnston, Koontz, McMillian, Osborn, Parker, Perkins, Poe, Sheets, Strunk, Taylor, Wagoner, Witherspoon.

Sixty of my most recent grandparents were born and died in Ashe. If you or your family passed through Ashe County in the past two hundred years, we're probably cousins. Drop me a note; I'd love to collaborate on identifying our common ancestor.

As pastor of Trinity (Catlett) United Methodist Church, I manage Catlett Methodist Cemetery (the actual graveyard, not the virtual Find-a-Grave one), and so I occasionally create memorials here at Find-a-Grave for those buried in our cemetery, and I'm ready to quickly transfer management of those memorials to family members immediately on request.
