I am retired military and moved to Billings Mt. in 1999. Since that time we have both worked here and I now work for USPS. I have been doing family tree research for both sides of our family since Dec. 2010 and have found findAgrave very helpful in not only putting headstones with those family members that don't have pictures but also with research of family name spelling changes. I use the headstones as the best source of last names. I love traveling around Montana in my spare time to help find headstones of loved ones that people are looking for.

Jim, Thank you for the headstone photo for Elvira "Cookie" Bean. She was my sister-in-law and more like a sister than a sister-in-law. The cold weather you have been having this winter, I wasn't sure if you would be able to get the photo until spring. Again thank you so much for all your time and efforts.

Arthur Gies
Thanks for taking Arthur's grave marker. I was curious when I saw his death record, it said "Ace Arthur Gies" But on other records his name is Arthur Carl Gies. His father was a German immigrant, his mother, Marie Miller was born in Missouri. Arthur was the "district manager of Hudson Automobile Sale". Was he called Ace because of the war, or because he was a good salesman or something else? Every time I find a WWI veteran in the Arizona death records I hope there will be something out there about his or her service.

I thank on behalf of The Great War Doughboy Search!
