Lloyd Taylor was born on June 22, 1943 in San Diego, CA to Glenn L. Taylor and Marie G. (Chapman Turner) Taylor.

EARLY LIFE
His family moved to La Mesa, CA where Lloyd worked for five years delivering newspapers while in elementary, junior high and high school. He saved his money for college. At Helix High School in La Mesa, CA he participated in student government and in three Junior Achievement companies. He learned how a business operates. In 1961 he edited a Junior Achievement newspaper which made a profit and was distributed to 22 high schools in San Diego County. He was awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Crown Zellerbach Foundation to be used for college. He entered science fairs with his research and displays on air pollution and smog.

EDUCATION
In 1965 he graduated from San Diego State University with B.S. business administration and minor in journalism. He graduated in 1967 from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Masters in Business Administration. Lloyd worked for business development firms.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE
After graduation he moved to Seattle where he worked for a business development firm while studying to open his own business. In 1974 he opened his own office as a business developer. He won judgments against the California Secretary of State to permit Libertarian Party candidates on the ballot in several counties.

PHILOSOPHY
While at UCLA he read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand which molded his political views. He helped to form the Libertarian Party and drafted their by-laws.

He later ran the portion of the California state ballot drive to qualify Proposition 13 to reduce property taxes from 3% to 1% of market value.

He retired to Santa Barbara, CA.

[Descendants of Owen Taylor (1870-1947) and Alice Minerva Kellogg Taylor (1877-1960) are at risk for Acute Myeloid Leukemia with MLL rearrangement. One of their sons, Glenn L. Taylor (1909-1988) and one of their daughters, Geneva L. Taylor Gibson (1903-1974) died of Leukemia. One grandson (Lloyd Taylor 1943-) has AML with MLL rearrangement. This is a genetic transmitted disease. Other descendants are at risk and should have their CDC blood checked annually for platelet, white blood cell, and red blood cell abnormalities out of normal range. If found, a bone marrow biopsy is called for. City of Hope Hospital in Duarte, CA is one of the best Leukemia specialty hospitals. They should do the biopsy.]
