Bio and Links
Interested in graves of near and sometimes more distant family and a few very close friends. My husband's family is at Mountain View in Oakland; mine at Belmont in Fresno, Mountain View in Oregon City, Oregon, and generations before are in Wright County, Missouri and Clinton and Essex Counties, New York, with scattered connections in New England, Midwest and South.

I believe Find-A-Grave can be a really good tool to help genealogists -- especially to interest new researchers or very young ones.

If you find a relative that I've listed, and believe there's an error -- dates or locations --or if you have some interesting information to add in the biography section, please contact me. I've taken information from a variety of sources. Sometimes even obituaries are less than perfectly accurate.

Apologies, I don't remember the source.

RE: Alice Bailey Mannon Obituary
Luckily I did add it at the bottom of the obit. Click on the obit and it will show you. But it was from the Northwest Arkansas Times October 15, 1938. Glad I could help.

You are very welcome! I descend from Fletchers as well, so checking out the Henry County, MO rootsweb site and discovered Frank's obituary. Glad to help!

RE: Joseph Akina, Sr.
Well, I found him right there with Jr & Agnes, I am glad I went to double check!

Charles Overacker

The record for Overacker at Mountain View has information in the note field saying that it is a cenotaph.

The original information came from the card file that used to be in the mausoleum. A friend of mine transcribed the card file and later I created records from his transcription.

The card file says Charles was interred in the columbarium in 1953.

I don't know which is correct, cenotaph or interred.

I have not spent any time hunting a new location for Charles.

I would like to keep him on the list as a reminder to double check and make sure there is no marker next to Jr

Joseph Akina Sr photo
Hi Linda,
Just wanted to let you know, I took photos of Joseph Jr and mother Agnes in Diamond Head MP (I thought I had the right Joseph until I got home and looked close)
Basically Joseph Sr's grave is unmarked but I left the photo request up since I did not have a clear photo of the unmarked plot.

Thank you, ever so much! We have just started the tree, rather refreshing project to say the least, considering my tree was done years and years ago. If your husband is related as well, I don't need a transfer, just very glad to have found her! Her daughter, Marjorie, married Charles Stuart Melvin, their daughter, Marjorie, married Fredric Weidenmueller, the children adopted the Hadley name instead, and the Hadley family are large and long time farmers here.

You are welcome very much.
Nope, Emily is nowhere near where her parent's are buried. She's near the middle of the cemetery and her parent's are way up in the section that is the highest point in the cemetery, probably about a half mile away from Emily. Big cemetery. They have over 500 acres in Lincoln Memorial!
I don't suppose you could do me a favor and put in a request for pics of Emily's husband Charles' grave too. They are buried next to each other. They have a double wide stone. I get kind of carried away when I get pictures and have to get down there and clean up the stone real good first before I will take pictures.
It is raining here today! It will be better weather in a few days and then I will go back up to the cemetery.
