We live 45 miles south of Buffalo, NY, in the tiny rural community of Riceville. I treat my animal clients with homeopathics, herbs, holistic remedies and Reiki. In our spare time, my husband and I love exploring cemeteries. It helps to fulfill our passion for genealogy and helping others. As of Aug. 2016, I continue to struggle with complications following surgery in July 2012. But, I am now back fulfilling photo requests on a very limited basis. As TV's Aunt Martha Corrine Walton said, "Neglected graves are a shameful thing." I am respectful around all graves and clean up the weeds as best I can, sometimes placing flowers, especially for children and veterans. Thanks for your prayers and patience.|

Came across this memorial for Amable who is my 3x Great Grandfather on my Mother's Father's side. I've been doing extensive research on the Berlinquette family for over a decade. I wanted to ask how you are related to him? Maybe we're distant, distant cousins!
The family came from Chateauguay, as you have noted, then they moved to Garden Island, Frontenac in the St. Lawrence until the late 1870s wherein they moved to Port Huron, Michigan over a five year period. He is buried in the family plot in Mount Hope Cemetery, listed as "Grandpa Berlayette". Berlayette became the Americanized version of Berlinguette. In the 1880's, half the family split up and moved to Cleveland (where I am) and Pittsburgh. As far as I know, the family line of Berlayette ended in 1945 when Albert Berlayette died in PIttsburgh. Albert was the son of Louis, who was a son of Amable. Louis is also buried in the family plot.
I'm going to head up to Port Huron this summer to grab pictures of the family plot.
Nice to meet you!

We were trying to find the cemetary today, 7/27/2016. The Rose and Potter family are our relatives along with some other suspected relatives who we think are there. Is there a place to get a list of the known people in there so I can continue. Thank you for all the information you have provided to this point. Your research has been very helpful.

I have a list of names for this Cemetery in Gowanda, NY located on the corner of Buffalo St & Sand Hill done by Irvine Gaffney. I found it on the Buffnet. net/-MacDowell/Collins/bflost.htm several years ago. I have tried to get onto his site after his death[MacDowell}& can not seem to find it any more. I also may be able to find a copy of the cemetery plotted out. I was thinking that I heard they moved all the graves, but Irvine said the cemetery was plowed over & the stones were discarded. I would put the list on the site if you want or sent you a copy of it for you to add. Let me know. Marta Cain

On Nov 14, 2013 you left a message on my FindAGrave bio page, relating to Nettie Warner. I have no Nettie Warner in either side of my family. I do have a Nettie Wiede on my Mother's side, and this Nettie is buried in Maplewood beside her husband. Louis Wiede.

Good to hear from you. The location of the stones are in an area where cremated ashes are buried. I am not related and will be happy to transfer upon request. I believe every memorial should be with Family or Friends. If you do not want the memorials transferred I will be glad to add any information you send me. Feel free to use the pictures as you wish and thanks for all your work on Find A Grave.

I am still working to confirm the locations of Pvt Michael Fetzer's parents. Since they were the only generation missing, I decided to go ahead and create a non-cemetery burial memorial. I believe they are buried in one of two cemeteries where the rest of the family is buried. I am descended from the Fetzer's also - my great grandmother was Lucy C Fetzer Fister. Once I confirm I will change the location on the memorials. If you could link their son Pvt Michael, that would be great!
