Bio

I was educated in Dallas, Texas and in 1974 my husband and I along with our two children moved to Van Zandt County on property that my mother, Edna Ruth Ledbetter Teal inherited from her parents, C C Ledbetter and Mattie Viola (Ola) Hodge Ledbetter.

I married Delton Wayne (D W "Wayne") Miller in 1965. We had three (3) children, Bobby Wayne (1966-1966), Billy Wayne (1967) and Brenda Gail (1070). We have been married for almost 52 years (as of 2017) and we still live in the house we built in 1978 on property that I eventually inherited from my mother (1993).

I got interested in genealogy when I became curious about my mother's family. My father, Billie Joe Teal was in the process of tracing his side of the family. I joined the Van Zandt County Genealogical Society and was president from 2004-2005. I have since become host of three (3) web sites in Texas (for TXGenWeb) and 2 in Alabama (ALGenWeb). I am now a Native American specialist and assist in African American genealogy as well as Melungeon research.
