Sherman and Thompson
Olive Arvilla Sherman (Thompson) and Charles James Thompson are my great grandparents from Fenwick, MI. Rhoda Dewitt is her mother? If her husband Morensi Sherman died in Virgina? Why isn't she with him? She is here in Michigan. (Rhoda) Could Olive be the Thompson side and Charles be the Sherman side? Charles might be born in 1868 from Fenwick Michigan. I know Rhoda had a child Christopher C Sherman born around 1868. They are both in Clear lake Cemtary. Olive and Charles. This line is confusing HELP ! they are my maternal side from my mom's side. They have a child Ferris Thompson. He's the best grandpa ever. I do know there is a Olive Rebeckah Sherman, Pettingill? There are 2 of them Olive's... HELP

You are very welcome. I also found a Reuben Thomas 1780-10/4/1863 and ? his wife ??eanor 1777-1831, however they are not listed on the Sandgate Cem. list so am not sure what to do.
I can email you the photos.

RE: Jonathan Dayton parents
Hi, Wish I could tell you what the headstone says but the only way I knew it was him was by his burial record.

RE: Diantha Green
Glad to help out. I think what happened is that the contributor who created them memorial that you saw in Harwood Cemetery had mistranslated the hand writing on the death certificate. She thought it said "Harwood" when it actually said "Hamburg." Since there was already a memorial for Diantha in Hamburg Cemetery, the person who created the duplicate in Harwood deleted it once I notifed her of the mistake. It happens!

Diantha Green

In trying to fulfill your photo request for this person I figured out she is buried in Hamburg Cemetery in Livingston County, not Harwood Cemetery in Washtenaw County (which makes sense because she died in Webster Township). There is already a nice memorial to her in that cemetery, complete with photos, where she is buried with her husband and at least two of her children. Here is a link:

Hope this helps!

P.S. Her death certificate can be found at under the name of Diantha Grim. Guess the transcriber couldn't make out the handwriting.

RE: Sarah Taylor and Caleb Daton
Hi John,

You are very welcome! I wish when I first did the memorials I would have done pictures, but I was only writing the information down back then. So I am trying to get as many as I can done when I'm there.
