Bio

Genealogy has been my hobby for over 40 years. I have helped people from all over the United States in researching their family history in Murray County, Minnesota. My web page has been on line since 1997 http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mnmurray/

I started transcribing Murray County cemeteries in 1988 and have over 12,000 Murray County burials in my data base. I work closely with the cemetery boards, funeral homes, caretakers, churches, historical museum, veteran’s service, newspapers, court house records and local people to keep my information updated.

Each cemetery was researched, walked, mapped and recorded. My goal now is taking pictures of the gravestones. Many donated hours have been put into this project and it is still on going.

I believe that it is important to transcribe cemeteries so that family researchers can connect with their ancestries that may have been unknown or forgotten. Today cremation has taken over the traditional burials and there is no longer a head stone or even an indication where the remains may be buried.

Please let me know of corrections, obituaries, or how I can connect families.
