Bio

Amateur genealogist, researching my ancestral lineage and trying to solve somewhat of a mystery.

My Coffin family lineage as long established:

Tristram (Me)>Lewis A Coffin, III, Lewis A Coffin, Jr, Lewis A Coffin, Sr, Julius A coffin, Isaac Coffin (Coffeen, Coffen), Edward Coffin, John Coffin Jr, John Mendom Coffin, Jethro Coffin, Peter Coffin, Tristram Coffyn, Sr. (Tristram Sr is 9th Great Grandfather)

Other surnames closely linked to my ancestry: G Jarvis Geer, Glass, Frank Carr Whittemore, Sybil Tappen, Margaret Patten, Irving T Smith, Thomas Sherwood, Starbuck, Gardner, Partridge.

I am currently writing a book, "Coffins - Noisy, Boisterous—Loud," which will feature a great deal of anecdotal information, some trivia, some biographies of notable Coffins, armorial bearings, controversies etc.

Specifically, I am very interested in Onteora (Greene County), Dutchess, Oneida, Fishkill, Herkimer New York area Coffins. Edward, Isaac, Julius. Barrington, Nova Scotia Coffins: John and Mary (Davis) Coffin and their son Tristram (Edward) 1762.

I live in Atlanta, GA and will sometimes assist in photographing gravestones, however due to my schedule and mobility, I usually limit this to cemeteries located pretty close to where I live. Mostly within 5 miles of Decatur, GA.
