I've always been very interested in the ancestors of my family. As a young girl I could sit for hours listening to the adults tell stories, and looking through the family albums. An Aunt on my mother's side loved antiques and used to bring items out of storage in her bedroom closet and show me, and share the most delightful stories of family members who had passed on before I was even born.
An Aunt on my father's side started searching for a half-brother that was a family legend for awhile. She made a great contribution into the documentation for my father's side of my family.
I've always wanted to continue the research and fill in the gaps as well as complete the line of her brother, my father, and to add the line of my mother's family.
I began sharing family information with my oldest brother about a year or so ago and he was bit by the genealogy bug as well. He and I share our questions and research and what we find. I've found this search for ancestors has brought a deeper sense of "family" and has enriched our lives and brought us closer together.
