Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and brought up in Wales but now live in Lincoln England. I started genealogy in 2002 and now have my family back to 18c. I stumbled across this site whilst tracing American relatives and found lots of help and information.
Please don't assume I'm a relative because I left a flower or sponsored a memorial and please don't transfer without asking.

Please make yourself aware of the Frequently Asked Questions - Site Rules. These do tend to change often. Note the naming section with instructions for use on memorials. Prefixes & Suffixes in the name fields are not allowed and stop the search engine from working properly. This site covers World Wide cemetery and burial information, some choices offered for Prefixes and Suffixes (Prefixes/Suffixes/Military Information) might not match exactly your countries customs. The last name field should not be left empty as the search engine requires a query by last name. Other characters like *, --, (), {}, ~, ..., ?, "" or numerals, are not allowed in the name fields as they are not recognized by the search engine making the name un-searchable. Maiden names are automatically italicized. The naming rules (not Guidelines) exist for good reasons. LOTS of good reasons. Titles of any kind are not allowed in any name field. Within the new Edit system if you get a request with "Unknown" in RED within a field, then that field would be empty. (It will not put the word Unknown in that field.)

RE: My Grandparents
Hi Daff

Sorry to be ignorant, but what does transferring these two grave to me actually mean?

"Uncle Ernest"
Hi Daff

Me again, and now I can see the grave of "Uncle Ernest", also in Newport Cemetery in Lincoln and since it has details of both of his wives, it's incredibly interesting and useful. I never really knew where he fitted in my family tree, just knew the name.

Apparently he use to run a Grocers in Lincoln and the shop in Bailgate was briefly a restaurant called "SEELYS", though it's no longer there.

Thanks again

My Grandparents
Dear Daff

Incredible to find a picture of my grandparents grave in Newport cemetery in Lincoln, Marjorie Blackhust and Frank Seely

Have just started to use Family Search, and am excited to find out how much information it out there, and pictures make it so very very real (not just transcripts)

Many many thanks

The will index states:

RE: Alexandra Worsley #155275235
Hi! The reason that I put up the cenotaph is for the memorial. People generally don't realize that the soldiers are often buried elsewhere --- despite the fancy memorials in the home church. The reason that I linked Alexandra to the cenotaph is for the benefit of anyone working at the church with the graves, because you wouldn't know that they belonged together other than that. I did include a link in the cenotaph to his actual burial memorial (and the whole memorial in the church is marked Cenotaph).

If you'd still like me to link her to the Ypres burial, then I will. Just let me know.

Ivy May Quibell
as always thank you very much Daff for your trouble. I've forwarded the link to her Great Niece in the USA (she was adopted and knows very little about her Quibell family- her birth mother was my best friend at the High school whom I lost contact with in the early 70s when she went to the US and so I'm helping one of her daughters with a Tree) Ivy was my friends Aunt
Kind regards

Hi Daff,

I was wondering if I could use the photo you posted of George Brownlow Doughty's memorial to my record (with credit to you). See

I'm ok with whatever your preference is.

Thank you,
