Bio

Hello, We have been active in our ancestral research since the early 90's. We got started just about a year before my father died. He was doing some research himself and had documented a makeshift tree. Even though his work was incomplete it gave us the initiative to take it and run with it. Several years later we have over 50,000 people in our tree and have visited several cemeteries in the area where we live. After a few thousand headstones photos taken we are now in the process of uploading them to Find A Grave as well as Ancestry. It has been arduous work but very rewarding to us. Unfortunately, the reason we are adding a bio now is because the efforts we have taken to make sure our relatives are remembered by information here and on Ancestry, is, our photos are being taken without our permission and then claimed by others as their own. We started noticing this about a year ago and started putting a small watermark on the photos. This has not stopped people from stealing our work. We would rather not put anything on the photos themselves because we believe it takes away from the aesthetics of the photo, however, it has become necessary. Now it seems as though even having the small watermark is not enough to deter those who would take what does not belong to them without asking or giving credit. So much for the small watermark. Now you will be finding photos we upload will have GLARING marks on them. Sorry about that. We are not averse to letting people copy these photos, we just ask that credit be given where credit is due. Just ASK. You might be surprised how willing we are to share. With the proper credit given. Unfortunately, the watermarks will remain. Because we are not able to travel long distances, we ourselves have taken photos from others on this site "WITH PRIOR PERMISSION" and with due credit given. So, we understand the desire to have a copy of your own.
