Am a White family researcher, for our Robert White Sr 1743-1843 of Union Co SC. Have been on the trail since mid 1990's. And travelled to many places where our ancestors migrated. Have done extensive research on all of the surviving children of Robt Sr, and many of the allied families of each.

The memorials I am managing are all related to our lineage.

Feel free to email me about our family. If you are related to some of our memorials, and would like a transfer, or update, let me know, and your relationship, will be glad to satisfy your request.

Our White family married into many of the old families of Union and Spartanburg Co SC, migrating to GA, AL, MS, TX and beyond. My Elias White settled in Bowie County Texas in 1846, and the descendants, number into the many hundreds, today. Getting them represented on Find A Grave, and linked is a goal of mine...

In the process my hope, is that we can spark an interest in our family research, and we can all help each other, expand our family tree's.

Gores Church
Ran across your question on another contributor's page. I have always been told that Gores (or, Goars) was the original name of Bethesda Baptist Church in Spartanburg County (and have foud this in some old obituaries). You might check for other family there.

FindAGrave for Elizabeth White
I am a Trustee for the Lebanon Cemetery and am working on collecting all the information for the interments to put in a notebook to be donated to the Kennedy Room at the Spartanburg County Library. I have also been doing extensive research on the Foster family (I was a Foster prior to marriage and have lived in White Stone my entire life.) I'd like to clarify and correct some of the information on Elizabeth Catherine Foster White's page before printing out her page for the notebook. You can best contact me at or my phone is 864-978-1424. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thomas Pool
The information you submitted for Thomas' memorial is better suited for the cemetery page rather than an individual memorial. I believe the correct email to submit the information is geography at findagrave. Also, Mr. Gilbert is a FindAGrave contributor.

Mark Murphy Cemetery
Is the name Mark and Holly Murphy Cemetery or are other persons buried there where a Mark Murphy Family Cemetery would be more in line? I have not been up to Union Co, SC in many years. So is the cemetery listed with the county as Mark & Holly Murphy Cemetery?

Murphy's Maek and Holly and Major
I placed the graves on best information I had collected, Thanks for the correction. One question. Where are all these middle names coming from? I have never found any primary document that shows any middle names for Mark, Holly, Simon, or Major and yet middle names seem to appear, not even the original Mormon documents from the 1830's from the Temple work done just after all these folks had died and their names would have been known to the children and grandchildren does any middle names appear, not until the mid 20th century does any record and again it comes mostly from Temple work and then the DAR records change and middle names start appearing online that these middle names appear. Do you have any primary documents from the period when these people were alive or bible, court or any official government document that shows a middle name? I have copies of Church records, military records and estate records all of them never mention a middle name. Thanks, I would like to be able to get the DAR and SAR records corrected if there is such a document available.
