I'm The Old Chief. That's because I'm relatively old and am a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. I got into working with FindAGrave to enhance my work on our family tree through Ancestry.com and as a way to get out of the house and get some exercise. Although my residence is in central Oklahoma I travel throughout this great country in my RV so you may see memorial and photo entries from various states. |
I'm specifically interested in the names Stone, Weed, Davis, Jones, Berry as it pertains to our family in Oklahoma.
Also my wife's family: Hill, Rogers and Phillips.
TRANSFER REQUEST: If you see someone that is a member of your family and want that memorial changed to your account just ask. If I am not also related I will consider your request. (For transfer request that are outside the FAG guidelines I consider them on a case by case basis. If your profile shows you have MANY more memorials that you "manage" than you have actually done the work to add yourself then your out of guidelines request will probably be denied.)
When requesting a transfer please give your FAG contributor number AND how are you related to the individual. Please use the EDIT tab on the individual memorial page to request transfers. Also, permission is hereby granted to copy and reuse pictures of any grave marker that I have taken and posted on this site as long as they ARE NOT posted to a for profit site such as Ancestry.com.

You must have known him from the Navy. Thank you for setting this up. I was like a sister to him and still miss him every day. Thank you for your service. Those words don't seem like enough but thank you!
|Sondra "Sandy" PITMAN Morrison||RE: Grady Burks|
Transferred because he was important in your life. Knowing you...... I'm sure he's in good hands.
|K Edwards||RE: Langlois in Duluth|
You're very welcome. I'm trying to at least get through the markers in section L of Calvary before the snow flies up here, so it was just luck that the Langlois family markers got updates. We have such a short timeframe where the ground is clear enough that it feels like I'm not really making a dent in getting memorials updated or in place. Thanks for the words of encouragement---you give me the incentive to keep up the pace.
All the best,
Re: James Earl Long.
Please review the memorial date of death which shows July 25, 2009. The grave marker shows Jim died Mar 30, 2009. Thanks, his cuz.

BROWN (b. 1886) [link # 28108787] & Mabel HOLLOWAY [link # 28108754], granddaughter of Eli BROWN (b. 1844) [link # 28108689] & Tamson McNICHOLS [link # 28108815], and great-granddaughter of my 3rd Great-Grandparents Thomas BROWN (b. 1822) [link # 55357675] & Margaret E. Also the STONE family --- is your STONE family descendants of the immigrant brothers Dea. Simon Sr. STONE of Watertown, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts or his younger brother Dea. Gregory STONE of Cambridge, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts. They were originally from Great Bromley, Essex Co, England.
|Michelle Winters||RE: Elizabeth J. Winters|
It's an understandable mistake. The detail is that Mrs. Elizabeth Jean (Comley) Winters (my husband's mother) had her ashes scattered and has no permanent memorial location. Thanks for your work with Find A Grave. It's a wonderful site.

Wanted to say thank you and expression my gratitide for all your work! You added my grandmother and grandfather's memorials in OKC, Betty and Charles Ludwig. Great work you do.
|Mike Casey||RE: Esta Payne|
I'm not sure just yet, however, you're probably correct. Someone out there may also know what's up and contact us. I'll do some checking at the cemetery office when I get back in town in a few. Mike
