Back in 1964 my mother started this thing called genealogy. I don't remember how many cemeteries or how many homes I was taken to in order for Mom to get the family history. It all started with Ashbys and Nedrows. Then came the Wilsons, Kierseys, Holcombs, and Hewitts. As the branches of the family tree grew it was the Van Meterns and Du Bois line on Grandma's side of the family and the Laflemmes, Lapratts, and Bassetts on Grandpa's side of the family, not to mention the Indian part of my line. So much of my family history has been done due to other members of my family keeping records in family Bibles and old photos. When I found this site a while back I decided that this would be a good place to help others find their families also. If I am able to be of service to others I will do my best to help. Genealogy, I have found, can be both frustrating and fulfilling at the same time. The golden nuggets that we find are so precious. The tree is never complete, it is always growing and changing. Happy Hunting!PS For the privacy of others I have deleted survivor names. If an obit is over 50 years old I tend to leave them as is. I am sorry if this causes problems, but there you have it.
