I have been doing genealogy for about 35 years, originally to help my brother out. He passed away sixteen years ago. I am retired and am carrying on his legacy. It is amazing how much time I spend on the computer every day doing research.

I grew up in Kansas and moved to California around 1958 and have lived here ever since. My ancestry research started out mostly Swedish with some Norwegian. Now with about 11,600 people in my family tree, it includes many nationalities including Irish and English and Canadian. I am mostly focused on Kansas (around Vilas and Chanute, where my family grew up), and also Missouri, Nebraska, California, Oregon, Washington and Arizona.

My Swedish ancestors came over mostly around the 1870's from the mainland and the Island of Gotland and then settled in Kansas. My records go back to the 1500's.

My goal in Find-A-Grave is to provide as much information on a memorial as possible for the benefit of others. I use Ancestry.com daily for research and have accumulated a lot of solid info.

On Oct 3, 2020 I had added 3,151 memorials.
