|WWII Historian||Remembering Your Dad|
I just happened to be searching the net for information on your father, Tod Andrews. To be perfectly honest with you, I recognized your father by face, not his name. He played a Navy Captain in one of my favorite films, "In Harm's Way," and I retired from the U.S. Navy as a Captain. . .and always thought your father's portrayal of Rock Torrey's Chief of Staff was spot on. He was a very good actor. There was an honesty and integrity about him that came through the camera and made him believable. To a movie fan, he seems like an ideal character actor. I think it's wonderful that all these years later, you take the time to remember him. Having lost my own father to cancer 16 years ago, I do understand how difficult it is say goodbye to a parent far too early. You're a fine daughter.
TCM is playing "Outrage" right now. . . Tod Andrews is the co-star of the film, and he could not have been cast better, in my opinion. Anyway, I'm quite sure that now I won't ever forget his name. I hope all your memories of him are special.
All the best to you and your family.
