Bio

I am writing the first book from the American point of view about 19th century rotunda panoramas. These were the biggest paintings in the world,50 x 400=20,000 square feet, housed in their own rotundas which were 16-sided polygons.Chicago in 1893 had 6 panorama companies and 6 panorama rotundas. My research is based on the life of my great aunt, Mathilde Georgine Schley (1864-1941), who was a dress maker, American Impressionist artist, was photographed inside William Wehner's panorama studio in downtown Milwaukee, was an essayist for the German-American press between the world wars, wrote DEUTSCHAMERIKA (1935) and FRITZ,PAT,JULES & HANK (1940)and helped Rev.Wilhelm Iwan (1871-1958)research Die altlutherische Auswaunderung um die Mitte des 19.Jahrhunderts (Breslau 1943).
