|Bio and Links|
Have been working on my family tree for YEARS.|
My goal is to link people in my family and others on findagrave.com
Adding memorials from cemetery records and could use all of the help anyone can offer to make the memorials more complete.
Thank you to everyone who helps out. The EDITS and LINKS are fantastic.
This is a blessing and a gift that keeps on giving.
LESSONS I HAVE LEARNED by NOT paying attention to fag rules and by using fag:
1. Do not make memorials for burials unknown. They do not show up in searches.
Dana Dancy tells me "You can search for "Unknown" burials - they do come up in a "search". You just have to NOT select a country/state."
2. Enter all data that you can in a bio such as born or died about .... so others will be able to give you edits.
3. Edits are a WONDERFUL BLESSING!!!
4. FAG Members are passionate about their memorials so don't think all of the members are out to get numbers.
5. Transferring Memorials to their Family is such a rewarding experience.
**** If you have a photo that is your photo and you would like it or information added to fag please contact me.

The birth date you have for Valentine Szczepaniak should be 3 Jan 1836. Not 3 Sep 1836. If you'll examine his death certificate you will note that his birth date is Jan 3 19 thirty-something. But then if you count back from his age, 72 years 5 months, you will discover that his birth date is actually 3 Jan 1836.
Also note that there is another Valentine Szczepaniak who was actually born on 3 Sep 1836 who is often confused with our Valentine. He even immigrated around the same time as ours. His wife's name is also Mary, but her maiden name is Noviak. You will find them on the 1910 census, which everyone continues to attach to our Valentine. This Valentine lived in Bridgeport, Saginaw County in 1910. Since our Valentine died in 1908 in Posen, Presque Isle, MI, it cannot possibly be our Valentine's census record. Just a heads up for everyone.
We need to be careful when copying other people's Family Trees that we're not also copying their mistakes. Just a helpful tip from an OLD genealogist. Happy hunting everyone! :)

You now have management over their memorial so you may add anything you would like. If your sister is buried in that cemetery you may post a memorial for her yourself. There is a way to post a non-buried cremation but I have never done it so you would have to look up the procedure.
You may post any picture or flower on any memorial yourself, because you are a member. For additional information or obituaries you would have to contact the person that posted the memorial. If it is a relative you may ask that person to transfer management of the memorial to you. Please always submit your Find A Grave Membership no. when doing so.
I'm always glad to help out. Best of luck on your research and once again WELCOME to Find A Grave.
