Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a genealogist at heart and try very hard to find information and links for the memorials I create (and am aware that I am human and do make mistakes) so I am happy to add information and make corrections.

I am also happy to do transfers but please don't send me a transfer request just stating "transfer it to me so I can update it" or ask me to link to "burial unknowns." Every edit or transfer request I receive gets researched and checked against the people buried near them to see if I can find a connection. So please if you have the information, use the edit tab to send the suggestion and THEN ask for the transfer.

Also I create memorials for families so please do not ask for a transfer because you are collecting Civil War soldiers, Pioneers, or whole cemeteries etc. These were real people, not something to be collected and I refuse to treat them as such.

Thank you to all the volunteers that have added photos, send corrections or shared stories or obituaries with me about the memorials in my care. And to those who kindly accept the many edit/link requests that I send out.

A note about photos:
I have been using the beta photo up-loader and one of its quirks is that it doesn't show you if there is already a photo on a memorial. I have tried to delete any duplicate photos I have accidentally added but if you find I have missed one please feel free to let me know.

Leonard Long
Good Morning Mary,
I am looking for the burial location of Leonard Longs mother Viola Victoria Livengood Long. She died in Brown County South Dakota on 2 May 1928.
I believe that she is buried in the same cemetery as her son.

Would you remember any thing about Leonard's
burial site, if there were other Longs buried near him etc.

Thank you for your time regarding this matter.
Rhonda

Leonard Long #107349044
Hi Mary, I was wondering if you by chance had more information on Leonard Long since you have his place of birth and death. I would like to find a newspaper obituary for him. He was married to my grandfather's half sister Helen Behrends on 9/29/1921 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I am also looking for her South Dakota obituary to see where she is buried. The Iowa obit I have comes from Monticello Iowa where she was born, 2/12/1900. It states she passed away in Watertown, SD and services were held at the Assembly of God Church in Aberdeen, SD on June 6, 1981. However the obit doesn't give where she is buried. I thought she might have been buried at Riverside Memorial Park in Aberdeen but when I called there today they do not have her as being buried there. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Hello MaryT---I sent a edit that you may review. If you wish you may hold off for the time being. I am researching this lady due to me finding an original phto of her from 1922 and I posted it already...she was a remarkable lady for her time. I want to have her story right so that it is well done when you, if you accept it, post it. Appreciate the work you have done. Will contact you soon I hope. Trying to locate a possible obit of here---she was owner/publisher of the Dakota Free press until she sold it in 1934. She was born in St Paul Minnesota, and I wonder if she is related to Alex, Charles C., George B., John C. and Oscar. Thanks again and will be in contact soon--I hope!!

Hello,

You have created a find a grave for one of my husband's great uncles. Just wanted to know if you have a connection to Uncle Will or was he in a cemetery you photographed for Find A Grave.

RE: Frederick Agustus Stabback - Duplicate memorial
Thank you Mary, for all your help and yes I will for sure share what I have found. It seems odd I can't find his death reg. in either country! And there is a chance his burial record is really a memorial to him and not an actual grave. I hope to hear from the person who posted it in Canada and will let you know of course.

A picture of the grave there would be most helpful and we will at least have dates to work with if there is a stone. Much appreciated. Marianne

RE: Frederick Agustus Stabback - Duplicate memorial
Hi Mary: I am still working on this family trying to sort through what we know for sure. For sure he married Ethel Francis Coburn in S. Dakota on Oct. 3, 1921 and she goes on to marry his brother James Elliott on July 12, 1926. But i can not find his death in Canada or the U.S., which was in 1924.

At one point you thought the Frederick A. Stabback buried in Hecla was a infant child of Fred and Ethel, can you tell me why you think this?

It seems there is a burial in Bolsover Presbyterian Cemetery for Frederick A. Stabback 1885 - 1924 along with his sister Pearl. I have a query into that memorial for clarification but at present have not had a reply.

So all in all not that much closer as there still may be a duplicate of these two memorials if they are for the same person. Marianne

The Cooks of Riverside Memorial Park
Hi, Mary! My ancestor is Ellen Miller Cook (Memorial #70848800). She was buried in Riverside Memorial Park in Aberdeen, Brown, South Dakota. Her husband, O. S. Cook, is buried in California. I noticed that she is linked to an O. S. Cook (Memorial #106346645) in the same cemetery that she's in, however. I can't figure it out! I wonder if it's a son who I didn't know about who is buried nearby. I know you created his memorial and linked them, so I was wondering if you remembered if he was next to her? I know you create hundreds of memorials, though, so I'm not expecting you to remember. I thought I'd ask just in case. I requested a photo of Aberdeen's O. S. Cook and hopefully someone will take a picture for me so I can see if there are dates on the gravestone. Do you remember whether you created those memorials from cemetery records or from gravestones? Are you close-by that cemetery?
I'm excited to figure out Ellen's story and how this O. S. Cook is related! Thanks so much!

RE: Frederick Agustus Stabback - Duplicate memorial
Hi Mary: thank you for all the extra info., it would now seem that the mystery is solved. This Frederick Agustus Stabback in South Dakota, is a nephew of my Frederick Agustus Stabback! I had all the siblings listed and it seems my relative had a brother named Adam Elliott Stabback who married Allison Dalgleish. Together they had at least 9 children, one of them being your Frederick Agustus Stabback. I did not have the info. on who he married, but thanks to you I now do and it would appear this is indeed their son. So problem solved for the most part, now just have to enter what we have learned!! Love this hobby and the wonderful people you meet such as yourself along the way. Marianne
