My ancestors migrated to Stewart County Tennessee in the early 1800s and settled in between the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers. Most of my Askew, Vinson, Futrell and some others ancestors migrated from Virginia to Northampton North Carolina and then to Tennessee.
My Downs ancestors may have come from Maryland and the Shaw ancestors from Virginia.

My family still lived in the same area as our ancestors, until they were forced to move to make way for LBL.
