I am posting what I know about the folks who were buried at several family cemeteries that would likely be overlooked otherwise, then linking them to as many descendants as practicable. Each of these cemeteries includes a gravesite of the first family member to reside on the land on which the cemetery was established. |
I have been very pleased to learn that many other people are interested in memorializing those who have gone before us, and are eager to share what they know to make each memorial as accurate as possible.
If I can return the favor, please let me know.

From Jones families of Va
Richard Jones was the son of Colonel Richard Jones and Sarah Stratton.
Richard Jones was born in 1720. He also was a Militia Colonel, and in 1768 was Sheriff of Amelia County. In 1749 his father conveyed 541 acres to him on the south side of West Creek, adjoining the land he already lived on, joining Reeves line, Daniel Jones, and the Beaver pond of West Creek. He sold 200 acres to Richard Philips in 1767.
His first wife is unknown. His second wife was Elizabeth Batte, and she was the mother of his youngest children.

|Blue Cat||Mount Pisgah Church Cemetery|
Last week, I traveled in search of Mount Pisgah Church Cemetery and found the Church with no cemetery, but I found Clayton Stump Cemetery and Collins Community Cemetery, however, I could not find Mount Pisgah Church Cemetery anywhere. I figure I drove right past the cemetery in Stumptown. Do you have detailed driving directions or GPS Coordinates that you can provide me so I can visit a few of my ancestors. Thank You Kindly.

Thank you for all your work out there! I went to Homestead Manor in Thompsons Station to see about visiting the graves of my 3rd great grandparents, and they didn't even know about a graveyard... said I could come back tomorrow and poke around. Couldn't see it from Google Earth either. You did share that it is at back of property, wondering if you have any other info. Thanks again!

You'll never know how much you have helped me find my ancestors. Thank you for all the hours and knowledge. Hope all is well with you. ab

I am not related to any of these people. The memorials are some that were passed on from other that had no time to care for them. Email me If I can help.
|John Grimm||RE: Delia Taylor|
Unable to confirm source for Wales...I may be in error. I did find info that a Dr. Gilbert D. Taylor was a Methodist missionary to the people of color in Franklin and Lawrence counties in Alabama. Was this the same Dr. Taylor as the father of Delia?
I am trying to find information about my family history. I am not 100% sure but some information I have from Ancestry.com shows that Michael Stump III was a descendant of mine.
If you have any information on the Stump Family would you mind sharing that with me.
