Bio

I am the son of James Mark Wolfe and Alice Joan Smyers Wolfe, both natives of Tillman County Oklahoma.

Our family has a rich heritage that spans Texas and Oklahoma. My Dad's family were part of the original homesteaders in Tillman County Oklahoma and has a fascinating pioneer history that begins with their migration from Mecklenburg County North Carolina whose ancestors were given a land grant by King George III in 1766.

My Mom's family had homesteaded in Lamar County Texas (more specific the Republic of Texas) that has an equally fascinating history that goes back to the pre-American Revolution era as well. The Smyers family homestead has been in the family for 180 years now.

Lately I've been working on my father's maternal line whose Wright/Fischer families are intertwined in Oklahoma history. Jacob Fischer, my great-great grandfather opened the first commercial bakery in Atoka Oklahoma in 1908 and later sold it to my great grandfather Wright. Both families went on to open other bakeries throughout Oklahoma. Today, the Fischer/Wright still has a reputation for delicious bakery goods.
