I decided to write briefly about how I started my project at St Stan's Cemetery. I began in 2007 by walking line by line taking pictures and writing down information in all kinds of weather. I did this endlessly over the last 10 years. This is truly my own hard work and dedication. I have now indexed 90,000 burials which are all on my website. www.gravefinderatststans.com.
I have two goals for my website. One is to make burials at St. Stanislaus Pine Ridge heritage Rd , Cheektowaga more accessible as well as photographing the visible stones. After months in each section crawling and prodding around the old side I have created maps to get you to gravestones. In many areas where there are not enough gravestones as a guide I do not list the line from the cemetery. I will soon add the word impossible. In 1978 an entire section that stones were destroyed and thrown in various directions. My maps give you a realistic or reporter's view of visible stones. If you want to purchase a stone for an unmarked grave or transfer a burial the cemetery will measure the spot. I also have reversed official line numbers for specific reasons. The biggest reason is the lack of stones in a section. I created my own lines based on visible stones. You cannot triangulate the official cemetery lines with mine. They are very different. My maps will take you directly to any stone even if I found it in the wrong spot. As the creator if you have any questions Please ask myself. Enjoy the search. Barb
