I always found family history to be a bit of a mystery, something to be solved. Along the road, I've found all kind of surprises. I thoroughly enjoy honoring the people that have gone before me with photo's, obits and bios. It has opened my world to a lot of people who are very willing to help out. It lends itself to responding in kind.
I grew up in St Louis, Missouri. I'm in total appreciation of TVFTH, who has laid out the groundwork at Calvary cemetery and maintains it in St Louis, also Susan Ing. Bellefontaine's online interactive cemetery map is state of the art. I also use the St Louis Genealogical Society Resources on-line, plus the SOS Missouri State Archives death certificates on-line. My searches have led me to most the states in the union and my roots in England, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, and Switzerland. Started in 1987, I am still learning. But today it's a lot easier researching then back in the days of snail mail.
