Bio

I have been involved in family history research since about 1994 and have devoted the majority of my time to it in recent years. My focus areas include the U.S. (especially Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Ohio, and Indiana), southern Italy (especially Basilicata), the U.K., Ireland, and parts of the former Russian republic, including Ukraine, Belarus, and Latvia. I evaluate sources of genealogical evidence carefully and value the work of volunteers on FindAGrave, especially for providing photographs of grave markers and for transcriptions of birth, death, and burial information that are clues for pursuing original records. I appreciate the work of countless volunteers in making more records and information available and enjoy paying it forward by helping others who are researching their own family histories.

You may use data and photographs posted to memorials I manage without requesting permission provided you give full credit for the material posted and do not use these for commercial purposes. As FindAGrave suggests, I will not accept newspaper obituaries and other copyrighted material for a biography, but I will accept extracted information with a source citation and excerpts from materials in the public domain. For more information on U.S. Copyright Law, see www.copyright.gov.
