Bio Photo My name is Janet Jones. I live in San Antonio TX with the love of my life, my husband Charles Jones. I am a mom of 4 (3 girls and 1 boy) and a York i.e. I have 2 wonderful stepdaughters and am very blessed to have their 5 children call me Ma! I also have 2 more granddaughters and 2 grandsons making a total of 9 grandchildren which makes me super blessed!

I began genealogy as a request to help a family member and since it has grown into a full time hobby. I love discovering and seeing my family grow with each new day.

I love digging through old records and walking cemeteries for hours trying to imagine the stories that go with the names.

I enjoy even more connecting a name with an event and lose myself in the past.

I try very hard to document EVERYTHING I do so if you have some information that will help out or even if you have a question please contact me. If you find an error I have made please let me know so that I may fix it!

RE: Minnie Estelle Crouch Pardika
Hi Janet, I'm back at the Lexington County library. We come very often since we don't have the internet in our apartment. I'd love to talk with you also. If you want to give me your telephone number, I'd be glad to call you. That way we can compare our Crouch families. I was actually wondering how you are related to the Crouch family. Have you been to South Carolina and visited all the Crouch cemeteries? A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were driving the back roads of Saluda County. It was a fun day. I located Butler UMC where West Crouch is buried. We found Emory UMC where some family members are buried. I do love to go hunting in the "sticks" and hunting on the computer. Well, take care. I do hope that you are feeling better. "Cousin" Marcia

RE: Minnie Estelle Crouch Pardika
Hi Janet, sorry I am so late getting back to you. My husband and I sold our home and are now living in an apartment until we find a new home closer to our son and the grands. We don't have cable or the internet now so I come to the main library in Lexington. I was just so surprised when I saw the name Pardika and wondered where in the world it came from. I was in Shiloh UMC Cemetery at least a year ago and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it on Minnie's gravestone. I don't even remember now who Minnie is. I don't have my Crouch papers with me at the library. I am now scrapbooking my mother's family. Her parents were Henry Mathew and Jessie Crouch. I've taken it back to John Crouch who came from VA we think and died in Old Edgefield County in 1791 (buried in the Crouch Cemetery off of the Batesburg Hwy in the cow pasture). I've found that he did not serve in the Revolutionary War as thought. Next generation is Bailey Crouch, then West Crouch, then Hardy Crouch who gave the land for Shiloh UMC and the cemetery (first wife Franzoura first person buried in the cemetery), my grandparents, and then my mother (Elma Crouch Whitaker Goddard buried at Travis Park Cemetery in Saluda) and her sisters and brothers who I loved very much. I still have a Crouch aunt, Gladys Christine Crouch Shealy, still living (love her dearly). She will be 97 on October 2. In my scrapbooking, I've discovered some Crouches who did move to Texas. I'd love to get with you also, Janet, and see how you fit into the Crouch family. I'd love to see your pictures also. Wish we weren't so far away. Should you want to contact me by telephone, I can be reached at (803) 736-1769. Take care. "Cousin" Marcia

RE: Drake Family--Belton TX
Hi Janet...I tried to answer you on Ancestry...a little more private but it wouldn't let me. My cousin Gary Love's son Mark Alan Love married Misty Susanne Drake and she is from Willis brother Charles Drake line. If you want to find a family closer I understand but I think I can get them to this family through my cousin.

This is my family
My grandfather was Miles Eckert from first Miles, Tx then moved to Fluvanna and eventually lived in San Angelo. He is buried in the Miles Cemetery. My aunt Mary Eckert in Big Spring, Tx did have genealogy information. I looked up Frank, my great grandfather and found Daniel. The picture of him as a young man really was a shock. The males in my family have a very very strong resemblance to him! I sent a screenshot to my brother and he said "that looks like me!"
My grandfather had 7 children: Elmer, Charlie Edwin (my father), Mattie Edith, Lester Dan, Annie, Miles Albert and Mary Ellen. Now Mattie, Miles Albert and Mary are all that are left. I know that my great grandfather also had a wife named Gertrude. I remember seeing her in my grandfather's neighborhood in San Angelo. She was not much older than my grandfather and was wonderful little old lady. I am not sure where she was buried. I assume she was buried in San Angelo or in Miles Cemetery in a family plot.

Upper Black Creek Cemetery
I was raised two miles from the Cemetery and have lots of family in it. I can probably get a copy of where the graves are located you requested photos of marker or not.

Wood family
I have been working on the Wood/Kelley genealogy. I have no problem sharing info. The Kelley side goes back to the Revolutionary War. They are actually GERMAN, not IRISH.

I notice you placed a flower on my great uncle's site and I was wondering if you are family? If so or if you know something about him I would like to pick your brain about him and some others in the family. Thanks for a response.

Mattie Vesta Bishop Crouch
Mattie Crouch, memorial #98581800, was my 1st cousin 2x removed from my Bishop family.

If she was not a member of your family, would you please consider transferring her memorial to me?
I would transfer her memorial if I received a request from a closer family member.

I have tried several times through the edit tab on her memorial to maybe get her memorial transferred. I don't know if there was a problem in receiving the requests.

Thank you for your help in getting this family member transferred to me.

Minnie Estelle Crouch Pardika
I'm sorry to have to do a public message but for some reason, my computer says this program will open outside of protected mode. I am Marcia Whitaker Smith. My mother was Elma Crouch Whitaker Goddard, born in Saluda and is buried at Travis Park Cemetery in Saluda. I have the Crouch family history which was completed by my Aunt Aline Crouch Sample in the 70s and a supplement done in 1982. #76914241 is actually Minnie Estelle Crouch Gardner. Minnie married Andrew Wilson Gardner on Jan 18, 1911. They had two children, Hubert Crouch Gardner and Andrew Wilson Gardner. Minnie and her husband, Andrew, are buried at Shiloh Methodist Church in Saluda. My great-grandfather, Hardy Crouch, donated the land for the church and cemetery. My great-grandmother, Franzoura Smith Crouch who died in June 1892, is the first person that was buried in this cemetery. I go to Saluda often to see my last Crouch aunt who is 95 years old. I will be going to Shiloh UMC to get pictures of the graves. Please correct this information for Minnie Estelle Crouch. Thank you. PS Minnie's father, Hardy Gamewell Crouch, was married 5 times. I am hoping to add more siblings to the list.

The Jackson's
Hi Janet! I don't know if you remember me, but I messaged you about 2 years ago, asking if you by chance had any Jackson family pictures. My great-grand father was Henry Jackson the brother of Daniel Jackson who you said your husband is related to. I'm always on the hunt for pictures and info and I have a few of Henry's family. I hope to hear from you. Thanks- Susan Jackson
