My name is Ruth. In 2006, I started working on the genealogy of my four grandparents: Channell-Coon and Nieweg-Blanton. In 2010, while mindlessly googling "Nieweg" for the umpteenth time, up popped my immigration ancestor, 2nd great grandfather Johann Christoph Nieweg, and subsequently, his wife, although the only information on the stones was "Grandpa Chris" and "Grandma Flora". I had never encountered the Find A Grave site before, and was shocked, but oh so pleased, to find the memorials of 19 Maries County Niewegs.

My Find A Grave work to date primarily revolves around the Nieweg line and Maries County, Missouri. I would like to thank Wanda and gravefinder1 for all of the work with cemeteries in Maries County. The information and photos provided by them has been incredibly valuable to me. Moreover, Wanda continues to look up marriages and other Maries County records to help me unravel the mysteries.

I currently reside in Sun City West, Arizona (north west of Phoenix), but was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. After living in the greater Kansas City area for 26 years, I moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico for a job, and stayed 33 years before relocating to Sun City West, AZ in 2012.
