Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on researching my own ancestry for many years, and have recently begun to visit local cemeteries. Although my ancestors are not from the area where I live, I am interested in helping others find theirs. I enjoy taking photos of headstones, and adding names to cemeteries that are not already there.

Please feel free to use my headstone/gravesite pictures and information for your own research.

I am following the Player, Hansen, McManigal, Slaughter, Turner, Ward & Bowdish bloodlines, and may be contacting some of you for access to management of memorials directly related to me.

Maurice Johns #99452756
I like to read old newspapers at the Library of Congress website. Today, I found a small obituary for Maurice Johns in the Weston Leader (Weston, OR) of 12/8/1916. The image was very faint, so I have transcribed it. I am also attaching a link for your convenience.

http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn94052320/1916-12-08/ed-1/seq-4/

Maurice M. Johns, former resident of this city and a pioneer of Umatilla County, died Sunday in Claremont, California, as a result of Bright’s disease, from which he had been a sufferer for many months, reports the Athena Press. The funeral was held at Vancouver, Wash., the home of the family. Mr. Johns, accompanied by his family, went to California several weeks ago with the hope of benefit. He leaves a widow, two sons and a large circle of friends in Umatilla County, Portland and Vancouver.

Thanks Jan, for processing my edits so quickly and without making me "prove" them. I've had such a time lately, "proving" things I, or other family members know to be true, I had forgotten how nice it is to have someone simply process the edits.
My birthday is around the corner, and I'll consider your gesture an early birthday gift.
Thank you for the nice treat of processing my edits without requiring me to "document my soul" to prove it.
MUCH appreciated! :--) :--) :--)
