I grew up on a farm just a mile west of Lone Rock Church and Payne Cemetery which is located in northern Harrison Co., Missouri. Ancestor's on both my father's side and my mother's side were instrumental in building and maintaining Lone Rock Church and also in the early maintenance of the cemetery. My great great grandfather received the first funeral service given in the new church (before the floor was installed) in 1893 and my great grandfather built the pulpit that is still in the church, as well as helping haul lumber and building the church.
