I have been interested in my family history since I was 10 years old, sitting at my grandfather's feet as he recounted the family history of Judge Mitchell King of Charleston, SC and Flat Rock, NC. I am now the acknowledged family historian for the family and have been working on adding to the history ever since. Although my information began with verbal stories, I am now trying to document what I know to be true.

I am named for my great-great grandmother who was also called "Clifford." I primarily work on the extended King family but also have interest in the Whittemore family of MA; the Carter family of MA; the Ross family of VA and TN; and the Bailey family of NC.

I am grateful for the work of "Saratoga" who has photographed almost every tombstone in the King family and believe that Findagrave has radically changed how we do family research.
