I'm a retired Navy Master Chief, and after doing the nation's work for nearly a quarter century I returned home to southern Louisiana with my two young sons. When I'm not cooking cajun food for my kids, I spend some of my spare time researching genealogy.|
My preference is to roam local and family cemeteries when I have time or opportunity; adding photographs to memorials that do not have one, and creating memorials for those not represented. I never intended to build a large number of memorials that I am responsible for and will be happy to transfer according to community guidelines. With that said, I am also happy to continue managing a profile for family members too.
Under the EDIT key: You can suggest a correction or provide additional information for any entry that I have made. I'm happy to add additional stories or obituaries and link family members.
Note: I hereby expressly grant permission to freely reuse photos of gravesites and grave markers that I have taken and uploaded to this website. They are your family members and I will not impose any kind of silly copyright on them. Attributing credit to me on those photo copies is appreciated.

Thank you so much for the transfer. It is deeply appreciated. On a side note, I have a Marcantel ancestry as my mitochondrial DNA line goes through, Marie Anne Marcantel Hebert, back through her mother Anne Rondeau, wife of Francois Marcantel,I 1727 France d. 1804 Opelousas. Anne Rondeau's ancestry goes back to Jean Rondeau & Marie Colon, daughter of Pierre Colon & Anne Quelin/Guelin b. 1686 France, d. 1741 Pointe Coupee Parish. We are of the H5c haplogroup...I'm guessing these are your ancestors as well as I only know of one Marcantel emigrant into Louisiana. Thanks again!

Not wishing in any way to be bothersome regarding this, it's just that on Re-reading her obituary, pls note that her mother's maiden name is actually STATES as Bessie (HOPE) Preston. However, you have attached her memorial page to the family of Bessie (CAVES) Preston who married Samuel W. Preston. Please note new link likely to show up in a couple of days, to Bessie Lee Caves daughter Bessie Pearl Preston b. AUGUST 1916 d. 10:50 a.m. May 14 1919 (I have copy of Preston family Bible page so stating). Please reconsider the fact that the obituary you used as a basis states the name of Bessie (HOPE) Preston and not Bessie (CAVES) Preston.

I meant to say that Samuel W. Preston and his wife Bessie Lee Caves Preston's daughter born 1916 d. 1918 (buried in family cemetery with parents in Shawsville, VA) was named BESSIE PEARL PRESTON.

Wondering if you might help me out to get this straight. I am closely related to the family of Samuel W. Preston and his wife Bessie Lee Caves and have done a good bit of research on them. I am wondering how Mrs. Epperson fits into this family, since the only Bessie I have in that family is Bessie Pearl Caves b. 1916 d. 1918. Have picture of her as a toddler with family and of her gravesite, buried with rest of family in Shawsville, Va in family cemetery. I would like to get this straight so as not to lead folks astray, but right now cannot find anything telling me that Mrs. Bess (Hope) Epperson was actually the daughter of Samuel W. Preston and Bessie Lee Caves Preston. Help, please?

Thank you for the awesome pictures of my great uncle. Will you please consider deleting the pictures from the memorial I posted in the subject line and adding the pictures to Find A Grave Memorial# 8406955. The second one was created in 2004 and the one in subject line in 2006.
